How much does it cost to work with Innovation Billing?

The honest answer is, “it depends.” Because we offer services tailored to your practice, the cost to work with us varies depending on your unique needs. Factors that influence cost include the size of your practice, the exact services your practice needs, and whether you would like to utilize certain features of our software, AdvancedMD.

How does Innovation Billing compare with other billing services?

Because we are something of a niche company, Innovation Billing can provide more specialized care to our clients than many other billing companies. While we don’t necessarily know what other billing services charge, we know that we offer more robust and more personalized services than our clients have previously experienced.

It is common for billing services, especially those that advertise extremely low rates, to only take care of getting your billing out the door—they don't even do a follow-up on those claims for you.

Even among companies that will follow the full lifecycle of your claims, their service often stops there. At Innovation Billing, we not only handle your claims, but we also provide a myriad of other services that are beyond the scope of what most billing companies offer, like helping you:

What kind of access do you provide to your software?

We use AdvancedMD as our billing and Practice Management software. It’s a robust web-based platform with many options that help you streamline your practice workflows.

As part of our standard billing fees, we offer you access to your practice’s AdvancedMD database for as many users as you need. Included standard is access to all patient charts, the scheduling module, online charge slips, the electronic eligibility feature, and the report center.

We can also provide access to other integrated features of the software, often at preferred pricing, including:

  • The highly-customizable EHR and online patient forms

  • Appointment reminders

  • Text and email patient statements

  • Telemedicine

  • And more

We want to start working with Innovation Billing ASAP. How long does the initial setup take?

We want to start working with you as soon as possible, too! Have you already requested your free consultation? If not, go ahead and do that now so we can speed this process along! 

After your free consultation, we'll move into a more in-depth review process to dig further into your services, your fees, financials, workflows, and how we can best assist you. Your consultation also serves as a "get to know you" process that allows us all the chance to make sure we'll be a good fit before ramping up your sign-on. This review will take one to three weeks, depending on your availability and your practice’s size and status.

Once we complete the review process and receive all the necessary information, we can generally set up your practice's database in our software within a week. 

When your database is ready, we can begin training on how to use our system, and we’ll set your “go live” date—the date of service for which we’ll start doing your billing—based on how quickly training progresses. The timeline for training depends on your staff’s schedules, and full training can take several weeks, but we should be able to start your billing once your staff learns the basics required to communicate billing information to our team, which could take as little as one to two weeks.

From the time you reach out for your free consultation to when we start your billing could be as little as three weeks, but the process will more likely take five to seven weeks. 

Can you help us with credentialing?

Absolutely! 

Our sister company, Medical Practice Management-Consulting, can handle your credentialing needs and keep our staff up-to-date on the process’s status. While you can choose to do credentialing yourself or have another company do it, we like to remain part of the process because the nuances involved in credentialing will directly affect our ability to do the billing down the road.

Do you offer Contracting?

Yes, we review existing contracts, recommend changes, and assist with or manage entirely the renegotiating. If the insurance carrier’s contracting market for your specialty is open, we can pursue contracts for you.

Do you provide on-site training for AdvancedMD?

 We can provide service packages that include on-site training for our system and services. Whenever possible, we believe this is the best method for training new users on the AdvancedMD EHR.

Is Innovation Billing paperless?

Yes! Our services are all online. There is no reason for you to send us physical records—we use online charge slips, digital fax, digital clearinghouse (for outgoing claims and incoming EOBs/ERAs), and a handful of other secure digital systems that help avoid redundancy and increase our processing speed.

 Are we locked into a contract with Innovation Billing for a certain amount of time?

No. We believe that our clients should have the choice to find the right company to meet their medical billing and practice management needs, even if that company isn’t us. While we believe our stellar customer service and success with speedy reimbursements make our clients happy, we always want you to have the option to do whatever is right for your business.

Do we have to use AdvancedMD’s EHR?

No. You may already have an Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system that is working well for you. If so, we are happy to access your system and build a workflow between your staff and ours. It may even be possible to utilize or build an API that allows information, such as patient demographics, to flow from your system to ours. If you do decide to make the switch, we can assist you with making the transition. We promise to make it as seamless as possible.
